And so, it begins

Don’t remember the prior things;
don’t ponder the ancient history.
Look! I am doing a new thing; now it sprouts up;
don’t you recognize it?
I’m making a way in the desert, paths in the wilderness.
Isaiah 43: 18-19

And so, it begins, our second year together.  I want you to know that I am excited to be your Pastor.  I get a smile across my soul when I think of what God is doing in our midst.  I have a couple of tasks for you as we take another step together:  1.  Find a treasured place in your memory and put the thoughts of what Monroeville and First United Methodist used to be.  2.  Find the rubbish bin in your mind and put the thoughts and things that were not to your liking in it.

Now, with a clear and hopeful mind, you have one mission in the next six months.  Invite enough people to worship with us that at least one of them chooses that this is indeed the place that God wants them to be.  This, and this alone, will bring new hope filled treasures to fill your mind; solve all financial worries and shortfalls; restore First UMC Monroeville to what you remember; and show us to be walking in the “will of God” as we are called to be witnesses of grace to our wonderful city.

Walking with you,
Bill
