-then sings my soul-
_
Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.  Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to Him on the ten-stringed lyre.  Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.  Psalm 33:1-3

Our vision is to provide music that expresses God’s love for us and allows us to respond to that love.  There are opportunities for all skill levels to serve God in our church through music, as well as enjoying the fellowship of belonging to a musical group.  Your participation is invited and encouraged!

CHANCEL CHOIR

The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 7 pm in the Choir Room.  This choir leads in worship at the 9 am service except on the last Sunday of each month when they lead at 11 am.  Our membership is composed of many skill levels with one common purpose – to sing with grace in our hearts to the Lord and to proclaim the joy of the Christian life through music.  We present a wide diversity of musical styles.  Besides making music together, there is a true sense of family within our choir membership.  The Chancel Choir offers many opportunities to raise your voice in thanks and praise to God.  There is a place for YOU!

We asked several of our choir members to identify some of the advantages they have discovered about being a member of our Chancel Choir.  Some of their responses were:
  • “Fellowship and togetherness worshiping with each other in music to God.”
  • “Choir is a very enjoyable and meaningful family of friends and a lot of fun.  Come join us.  Everyone is welcome and you will         be faithfully rewarded.”
  • “Choir is family….a free music lesson every week…and it’s fun!”
  • “A guaranteed seat every Sunday – here you get to watch the congregation react or our worship service!”

 ENSEMBLE

The Ensemble rehearses on Sunday afternoons at 4 pm in the Choir Room.  Music selections lean more toward contemporary pieces.  Rehearsals are a collaborative opportunity for musical expressions of praise.  This group is open to adult vocalists and instrumentalists as well as those who are in high school.

 HANDBELLS

If participating in music at church is one of those things you’ve always wanted to do but you can’t play an instrument and only your mama ever wanted to hear you sing, then perhaps handbells is a place for you to come and enjoy praising God with music.  Technically speaking, you have to:
  • be able to count to 3 or 4 and preferably have just a little bit of musical experience…and yes,           piano lessons years ago would definitely count!
  • be able to hold something in each hand at the same time
  • enjoy being with others who enjoy making music and enjoy good fellowship
